Information on more than 2,500 common health topics, tests, procedures and other resources is available to BC residents. This secure health database contains medically approved information from the Healthwise® Knowledgebase.
Pharmacare
PharmaCare subsidizes eligible prescription drugs and designated medical supplies, protecting British Columbians from high drug costs. PharmaCare provides financial assistance to British Columbians under Fair PharmaCare and other specialty plans.
Northern Health Authority
Northern Health covers almost two-thirds of British Columbia’s landscape, bordered by the Northwest and Yukon Territories to the north, the BC interior to the south, Alberta to the east, and Alaska and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Within Northern Health, there are over two dozen acute care facilities, 14 long term care facilities, public health units, and offices providing specialized services.
Northern Family Health Society
The Northern Family Health Society is a non-profit society incorporated in Prince George, BC in 1989. The purposes of the Northern Family Health Society are to educate the community in family health issues that promotes healthier pregnancies, children, families and communities.
B.C. Cancer Agency
The BC Cancer Agency - along with seven other provincially mandated health care agencies - is a member of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). The PHSA is responsible for governing, managing, and funding this group of health care agencies and services.
Prince George Regional Hospital
Prince George Regional Hospital is the referral and trauma centre for most of northern British Columbia. It is the largest acute care facility in the Northern Health Authority. PGRH has over 200 acute and rehabilitation beds, providing a full range of core medical services, clinics and support services.

Lifeline programs have been providing service to British Columbians since 1987. Program staff and volunteers are trained and eager to help the people of their communities.

Canada Health Act is to ensure that all eligible residents of Canada have reasonable access to medically necessary insured services on a prepaid basis, without direct charges at the point of service.
Health Care in Canada
Health Care is availabe to all Canadians as established by the Federal Government's Canada Health Act. Health Care Insurance plans have basic similarities across the country including coverage of medically necessary hospital services and the services of a physician, however, any further coverage varies from province to province based on additional provincial funding.
